Fitbit Versa 3Īll in all, there is always a possibility of bugs and issues affecting gadgets like those from Fitbit even after proper maintenance. Moreover, the Fitbit OS 5.2.1 update came out pretty recently for the Fitbit Sense and Versa 3, however, it did more harm than good. On the other hand, there were SpO2 data syncing and ‘Notification service is not running’ issues with the Fitbit app which is used to manage the trackers and smartwatches on smartphones. To recall, there were reports of multiple connectivity issues with Fitbit Luxe, notifications not coming on Fitbit Versa 3, and more. However, it is not feasible to get rid of each and every issue when it comes to software. #Fitbit connect no internet connection found fullThe Fitbit community is full of bug reports and issue threads from Fitbit users.įitbit tries to resolve most of the issues and problems by promptly assisting affected users through various troubleshooting steps and software updates. However, there are times when Fitbit trackers and smartwatches do not perform the way they are supposed to. This means that the fitness vendor provides software updates including improvements, bugfixes, and even new features to its devices. While Fitbit provides support to all the trackers and smartwatches that are currently in its portfolio, it also supports some of its discontinued products. Original story (published on August 11, 2021) follows:įitbit has a vast portfolio of smartwatches and trackers including the Fitbit Ace, Inspire series, Charge series, and many more. I just wish it had automatic fitness tracking like the Fitbit devices.New updates are being added at the bottom of this story… #Fitbit connect no internet connection found androidI will stick with my Miband 2 (which I paid 20€) and the unofficial Notify & Fitness app + Sleep as Android for better sleep tracking, this combination has been working perfectly for months without internet access - not even asking for it once. It's funny that I paid 150€ for a device that is literally useless if I don't add all my data to it for free. I don't live in the US and don't want a company to know even remotely that much about me as they want to know. If you care about your privacy just 0,1% as much as I do, take a look at their privacy policy and then decide if you want to keep your device (or if you want to buy one). The app is trying to connect to the servers for about half an hour at this point, but this is not going to happen at any point, as I'm uninstalling the app and sending the device back to the seller. Even though the device itself has no possibility to connect to the internet it needs internet to function properly. The funny thing is, that you can't even change the order of the items in the menu or the main screen without a valid internet connection - or in my case, if it's blocked. Instead it's transfered to the app, which automatically gets uploaded to the Fitbit servers and from there pulled again to the app, where you can see all the stats. I digged a little in the internet (Duckduckgo, not Google by the way) and came across a post in the Fitbit forum, where they said that the data from the device is never transfered to your phone directly. Also half of the stuff in the app didn't work, so I became even more sceptical. Took away the rights again and edited the settings in the app for my Charge, but I realised that nothing has changed on the device itself. So I enabled internet access and suddenly it worked like a charm. However, the little problem was that I couldn't set the device up without an internet connection. Well, no big issue, as I could set up the device and then block the internet access with the Firewall I have installed on my rooted phone. I was already a little sceptical after reading the privacy policy because I, as a difference to most other people, am pretty serious with my privacy and the information I share. So I just bought myself a Fitbit Charge and set it up on my phone.
